Medroxyprogesterone

Medroxyprogesterone is progestin. It works by blocking the thickening of the wall of the uterus and stimulating the production of hormones by the same uterus.

What is Medroxyprogesterone?

Medroxyprogesterone is used in cases involving menstrual problems or irregular bleeding. It can also be used to stimulate a normal menstrual cycle in women whose cycle has been irregular for at least 6 months, though not as a result of pregnancy or menopause. Lastly, it can be used to prevent thickening of the wall of the uterus and reduce the risk of cancer in patients taking estrogen.
