It can be considered as a more severe form of hemiparesis and is caused by a brain damage that originates: before birth (hemiplegia congenital), during birth or after birth. In an adult person it may be a consequence of a stroke.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-kind-of-diseases-can-be-associated-with-hemiplegia\">What kind of diseases can be associated with hemiplegia?<\/h2>\n<p>Diseases that can be associated with hemiplegia are the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Atherosclerosis<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n<li>Epilepsy<\/li>\n<li>Stroke<\/li>\n<li>Leukodystrophy<\/li>\n<li>Cerebral palsy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remember that this is not an exhaustive list and it is highly recommended to consult your doctor in case of symptom\u2019s persistence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-is-the-therapy-for-hemiplegia\">What is the therapy for hemiplegia?<\/h2>\n<p>The objective is to be able to handle the condition and improve the quality of life of those affected. The possible approaches include: physical therapy, inclusion therapy, speech therapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation and injections of botulinum toxin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"when-is-most-likely-to-contact-your-doctor-in-case-of-hemiplegia\">When is most likely to contact your doctor in case of hemiplegia?<\/h2>\n<p>Hemiplegia must always be approached with the help of a doctor.
