Professor Giuseppe Mercante’s clinical activity is mainly focused on head and neck surgery, particularly thyroid and parathyroid surgery, tumors of the pharynx and larynx, treated also with minimally invasive and robotic surgery, tumors of the major and minor salivary glands, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck using free and pedicled flaps, along with the treatment of functional disorders through laryngeal phonochirurgery, endoscopic nasosinusal surgery, surgery for obstructive sleep apnea, and pediatric otorhinolaryngological surgery.

Professor Mercante is involved in numerous national and international clinical research groups as coordinator and Principal Investigator, with the goal of promoting a multidisciplinary approach for patients with oncological diseases of the head and neck to offer early diagnosis and personalized treatment, with attention also to the patient’s quality of life.
