Thyroid gland function

Who can undergo this type of examination?

The thyroid gland plays an important role in the proper functioning of an organism. In fact, it produces the hormones involved in the development of numerous functions and control of the metabolism. Monitoring the function of the thyroid gland is especially important  for women in pre or post-menopause, as well as men with family histories of thyroid abnormalities.

Why undergo this type of examination?

The thyroid gland regulates a large number of processes and has an important influence on the function of many areas including the brain, metabolism and adipose tissue, heart and vascular system, reproductive system (infertility and sexual problems), respiratory system and bone marrow (production RBC). A malfunctioning thyroid gland alters an individual’s overall health, causing symptoms such as difficulty in concentrating, feeling tired or alteration of the menstrual cycle or body weight.

When to undergo this type of examination?

The examination course is available for any individual on Wednesday.

What does this type of examination entail?
