Head of the Surgical Histopathological Diagnostics Section within the Pathological Anatomy Unit, where he coordinates both internal and external surgical pathology cases from Humanitas Mater Domini in Castellanza, Humanitas Gavazzeni in Bergamo, and Humanitas Pio X in Milan. He is also the coordinator of internal quality control procedures in Pathological Anatomy, including report turnaround times and implementation systems for quality in intraoperative frozen section diagnostics.
Over the years, he has developed advanced skills in immunophenotyping and molecular biology techniques applied to human tumors, and in diagnosing certain types of sarcomas, including gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). He is a member of the national pathology panel responsible for histological review of patients undergoing active surveillance for prostate cancer. Upon specific request, he also provides second opinion histological consultations in the fields of sarcoma and urologic oncology pathology.
