Trimebutine

Trimebutine is mainly used to treat irritable bowel syndrome.

 

What is Trimebutine?

Trimebutine is an antispasmodic medication. It works by slowing down or stabilizing abnormal bowel movements.

 

How should Trimebutine be taken?

Trimebutine is typically administered orally in the form of tablets. The recommended dosage for adults is up to 600 mg daily (200 mg three times a day before meals).  

 

Side effects associated with Trimebutine

Among the possible side effects of Trimebutine include the following:

 

  • Abdominal pains
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue
  • Bad taste in the mouth
