Contraindications and warnings associated with the use of Roflumilast
Roflumilast is contraindicated in the presence of certain liver problems and if you are taking carbamazepine, hydantoins, phenobarbital, primidone, or rifamycins hypericum.
Roflumilast can compromise the ability to drive or operate hazardous machinery; this effect can be aggravated by alcohol and certain drugs.
Moreover, before starting treatment it is important to tell your doctor if:
- You have any allergies to the active substance, its excipients, other medicines, foods, or any other substance
- You are taking other medications, herbal remedies and supplements, particularly hormonal contraceptives, cimetidine, enoxacin, erythromycin, fluvoxamine, itraconazole, ketoconazole, carbamazepine, hydantoins, phenobarbital, primidone, or rifamycins hypericum
- You suffer (or have suffered) from liver, mental or psychological problems
- You have suicidal thoughts
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
