Chymotrypsin

 

Chymotrypsin is used to reduce the redness and swelling associated with abscesses, ulcers, infections, surgical interventions or trauma. It is also used to help dissolve mucus in cases of asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis and lung diseases. Chymotrypsin reduces liver damage in patients with burns and helps treat wounds. It can be used during cataract surgery to reduce damage to the eyes.

 

What is Chymotrypsin?

Chymotrypsin is an enzyme that reduces inflammation and prevents tissue damage.

 

How should Chymotrypsin be taken?

Chymotrypsin can be administered orally, by injection or by inhalation. It can also be applied directly on the skin.

 

Side effects associated with Chymotrypsin

Among the possible side effects of chymotrypsin include the following:

  • Increased intraocular pressure
  • Uveitis
  • Iridoplegia
  • Keratitis
