How do I know if I have a cataract?

Q:  How do I know if I have a cataract?

A: A cataract is a painless clouding of the internal lens of the eye. The most common symptom is blurry vision which affects daily activities such as reading, driving, household and professional activities.

A cataract is usually progressive and often intense frontal lighting can provoke it. Other times, you may experience double vision.

In some cases, a questioning effect on improving nearsighted vision is mistaken for the first stages of cataract progression, which in turn raises the question for the need of spectacle lens.
