Painful ejaculation (Odynorgasmi)

Ejaculation pain is a condition in which the emission of semen is associated with pain or burning in the area of the perineum (the area between the anus and the genitals) or the outlet of the urethra. It can be associated with a level of discomfort in the testicles and affect sexual pleasure.

 

What kind of diseases can be associated with painful ejaculation?

The following diseases may be associated with painful ejaculation:

  • Prostate cancer
  • Psychological disorders
  • Epididymitis
  • Infections
  • BPH
  • Orchitis
  • Prostitis

What is the therapy for painful ejaculation?

The most appropriate remedy for painful ejaculation depends on its cause. In case of prostatitis, for example, it can be useful to take alpha-blockers, muscle relaxants, analgesics or anti-inflammatories. Infections may instead require the use of antiviral drugs or antibiotics.

But in some cases the symptom are a part of a physical problem. In those cases can be useful behavioral or psychological approaches. It can be helpful, e.g. counseling or learning techniques to relax the pelvic muscles.
