There are several medical conditions that can be the cause of sneezing: respiratory allergies, colds, rhinitis, sinusitis and nasal polyps. In some cases sneezing can also be induced by particular emotional states.

Remember that this is not an exhaustive list and it is highly recommended to consult your doctor, in case of symptom’s persistence.

What is the therapy for sneezing?

The remedies against sneezing can be different depending on the cause that triggered the sneezing themselves. In the case of respiratory allergies, antihistamines may be used and may be of help in removing allergens (such as dust) from the closed places in which the patient stays and sleeps. In case of a cold, the use of vasoconstrictors indicated only a few days of treatment and must be carefully monitored by the doctor. In case of presence of other symptoms, such as headaches, the patient may need analgesics. In case of coughing, special syrups may be needed.

All medicines should be taken under the advice of a doctor. You should also avoid "do it yourself" medicines. In general, cleansing the nasal passages with saline and humidify the environment in which you are staying helps you sleep.
