Anuria

Anuria is the complete absence of urine production. The human body has a producing threshold of a 100 ml of urine daily. The underlying cause of the problem may be: a reduction of blood flow in the kidneys, prolonged ischemia, a toxic effect of some drugs or necrosis.

 

What kind of diseases can be associated with anuria?

The following diseases may be associated with anuria:

  • Kidney failure
  • Sepsis
  • Septic shock

What is the therapy for anuria?

In case of anuria, first the symptoms have to be identified and the root causes addressed. In some severe cases resorting to hemodialysis may be deemed necessary.
